Oh the weather outside is frightful, but a few weeks ago it was so delightful . . .
So even though the weather has been a little crummy this last week, believe it or not it was fairly nice a few weeks ago, even downright hot. Do you remember these days? Think way back . . .
Landscape Arboretum
Last Thursday the boys and I went with Grandma and Papa Rickabaugh and Kristy and Lilly to the Landscape Arboretum. It was a free day so we took advantage of it. I was happy to find out that they had quite a bit of things for kids to do. We first went to the kids building were they had a few displays for the kids to play with and a "Please Touch" greenhouse.
Here is Elijah in the greenhouse with an orange - though actually green (there were orange ones further up the tree).
Here is cousin Lilly hamming it up for the camera.
Evan decided he wanted a go at picking an orange.
Outside they had a natural play area. They had little "stations" made of natural materials where the kids could pretend to do different things.
Here is Papa making some "lunch" for Elijah and Lilly.
All in all we had a lot of fun and Elijah was pretty wiped out by the time we got home!

A Star!
Those of you that get the Wooddale Week, did you catch who was starring on the back cover? If you missed it, like I did, you can check it out here.
You will have to go to the last page of the pdf to see it, page 9. Funny, funny.
The other little boy is Caleb, son of my friend Shelly and friend of Elijah. Good thing she posted about this on her blog, or I might have missed it! Thanks Shelly!!!

6 Months Old, Already?
Can you believe that this little baby boy is already 6 months old? It seems that the last 6 months have flown by! I do suppose that he has changed quite a bit from the baby we brought home from the hospital. Along with his rolling over skills he has be moving all around the floor using pivots, rolls, and slow creep/scoots. I think on the doctor's skill assessment sheet this is referred to as "somehow moving when on stomach". It is a rather mysterious stage as you never actually see him moving you just look up and he is a few feet away from where you put him down.
He is also working on sitting right now. He can balance for a little while, but then gets so excited about something that he topples over. We will have to work on that one.
He also just got his first tooth a week ago and his second one is appearing as I write this. These will come in handy as we plunge forward with all the new solid foods. Feeding him has been interesting. He seems to be a little pickier than his brother and not as ferocious of an eater. The funny thing is that he loves more bitter foods like green beans and peas and has yet to take a liking to any fruits. We are still working on him liking apples and we can now add pears to the list of foods he spits out. I have been making my own baby food and I must defend it and say that I think the apples and pears turned out very delicious!
Well that is about it for updates.
Easter
We had a nice Easter weekend. We spent Saturday celebrating with the Rickabaughs. We had family in from out of town. I figured that there were 40 people present in my grandma's party room!!! On Sunday we went to church in the morning and then spent the rest of the day with the Dacks. The beautiful weather rounded out a a good Easter weekend!

The boys all ready to go to church. Elijah likes to lay in the crib and "play" with Evan.

Elijah with the cross he made in the nursery.

The four of us at church.

Dueling Brothers
We took this video a few weeks ago after a very "exuberant" dinner. I have a feeling we are going to have our hands full in a few years when these boys start teaming up together! It may be hard to decipher, but Evan is instigating most of these "interactions". Needless to say, it has been getting louder and louder around our house!

Is Spring Here Yet?
Here is just a little of what has been going on the last few weeks.

We went to the Burnsville Center a few weeks ago where they have a new little play area. Elijah played with his cousin Lilly on the cars (sponsered by Burnsville Toyota :) ) It wasn't as fun as the Eden Prairie Center, but they still had fun together.

Elijah liked driving Lilly around in the convertable.

Elijah and Evan went for a ride on the horse!

Elijah enjoyed playing with the water table he got for his birthday last year. It was one of the first days warm enough to play with water outside. He did get soaking wet, of course, so he eventually had to come inside.

It won't be long before we get to go swimming!!!

No, it isn't your computer . . .
Apparently nobody can actually see the first pic in the last post. I don't think I will be able to fix it because of how it is stored. Too bad, you missed a good one : )

Who is Who?
Can you tell which Dack baby is which???
Maybe it is fairly easy for you, but they definitely are brothers! We put Evan in the hoodie sweatshirt that Eli once wore and we noticed some similarities. Too bad babies don't cooperate when you want to pose them in a way to copy their brother's picture. Oh well. I think Elijah was about 6 months old here and Evan was about 5 1/2 months.

(in case you couldn't tell . . . Elijah is the top picture and Evan is the bottom picture . . . or is it the other way around????)
